HPI's 1/64 nano-TTR Adds a Licensed Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Body
HPI Racing has added another licensed body to its 1/64 scale nano-TTR line. The new Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 version puts a hand-finished, officially licensed Mustang hard body on HPI's in-house 2WD micro chassis, with transmitter-controlled LED lights and a small LiPo battery that HPI rates for up to 45 minutes of driving.
What's New
The Mustang RTR Spec 5 joins the existing nano-TTR range, which already includes a classic Ford Mustang RTR-X, two BMW M3 E30 versions, a BMW M3 Warsteiner, and the BMW 2002 Turbo. It comes in three colors: Iconic Silver (#161428), Grabber Blue (#161429), and Soul Red (#161430). New Aero 5-style wheels are fitted with HPI's SPEC-GRIP treaded tires.
Like other nano-TTR models, the body is held on by HPI's clipless mounting system, which uses two screws so bodies can be swapped between cars.
Chassis, Lights, and Radio
The chassis is a factory-assembled, rear-wheel-drive design with fully proportional steering (HPI calls it Real Steer). The car is tiny: HPI lists it at 73 mm long, 32 mm wide, and 23 mm tall, with a 42 mm wheelbase and a running weight of 22 g.
Lighting is a big part of the package. Headlights, tail lights, reverse lights, brake lights, and turn signals all work, and you can cycle through Day, Day (no signals), and Night modes from the transmitter. The hazards come on automatically when the battery needs charging. The included HPI MTX-400 2.4GHz radio is a 4-channel unit with servo reversing, endpoint adjustment, trims, and dual rate. HPI says the car is also compatible with its TF-51 transmitter.
Battery and Charging
Power comes from a replaceable 58mAh 3.6V LiPo battery, which HPI rates for up to 45 minutes of runtime. The car charges through an included USB to USB-C cable.

HPI has not listed a price or release date on its product page.
