Carisma M40F: A 1/10 Mid-Motor Front-Wheel-Drive Touring Car Kit

New ReleaseCarismaOn-RoadKit

Carisma has announced the M40F, a 1/10 scale mid-motor front-wheel-drive assembly kit in its M40 series (product code 91668). Carisma says the project was driven by interest in a FWD chassis for Honda Civic-style bodies, and it positions the car for hobby and club drivers who want a different on-road feel rather than for top-level FWD racing.

What's new

The M40F puts the motor mid-chassis and drives only the front wheels, with the ESC mounted up front to add front weight bias. The rear uses a torsion plate setup that Carisma says was inspired by real-car design and developed with AI assistance, as was the flex of the carbon fiber main chassis.

Carisma says an optional independent rear suspension conversion will be offered later for owners who want a conventional four-wheel independent setup.

Hardware

Listed features include a carbon fiber main chassis, a CNC machined aluminum motor mount, a full metal gear front differential, and Carisma's new M40S 2.0 front suspension arms. Camber and toe are adjustable front and rear, and the wheelbase adjusts from 257mm to 260mm.

The car fits 190mm body shells and uses 12mm wheel hexes with standard 24mm touring tires. It is designed around a low-profile (shorty) servo and a shorty battery.

Price and availability

Carisma's own store lists the M40F at $299.99 and currently shows it as out of stock with a pre-order option. Big Squid RC reported the price as $299; the small difference is likely rounding. Carisma's store ships from Hong Kong and notes that US buyers may owe import duties of roughly 12.5% on delivery. A US retail release date has not been announced.

What you'll need to complete it

Carisma lists the following as required and not included: motor, ESC, shorty servo, radio system, shorty battery, a 190mm body, 24mm tires, 12mm hex wheels, and shock oil. You will also need 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm hex drivers for the build, plus a charger for your battery.
